Shipping FAQ
-
We typically have our clients ship their product to us or arrange a local drop-off or pickup for clients within traveling distance of the Chicagoland area.
For circumstances that involve items that are either too heavy or expensive to ship, we offer the ability to bring a studio to you. This is handled on a per project basis so travel and shooting logistics can be ironed out.
If shipping, please fill out one of the three shipping forms, ideally after you have filled out the quote form.
-
After booking your project and dates, we will provide you a link where you can confirm whether you will be handling the shipping to us or we can handle the shipping logistics after you to fill out one of our two forms based on the value of the item.
Our form has you fill out your shipping weight, dimensions, and value. This will then populate a UPS label which will be emailed to you which you can print out and attach to your package or scan a QR code at the designated drop off.
Shipping insurance will be calculated based on the established value of the items being shipped ensuring that your items are covered during transit.
Once the items are received (a signature is required for all shipments), we inspect the products, confirm quantities, and prepare them for them for your session.
After your items are photographed we carefully package them and ship your items back to you via UPS.
You’ll receive tracking information so you can follow the shipment from our studio to your doorstep.
Delivery can take anywhere from 1–7 business days, but rushes are available if time is of the essence.
-
We offer two options; the client is able to take full control of shipping to us, and we will take responsibility for shipping the items back from the studio. Otherwise we offer full service shipping by completing one of our shipping forms in which we will provide you a link to print out your shipping label.
All shipping done on our end will be billed as a line item on the final invoice. We make sure to find the most affordable safe shipping option for your item and shipping insurance is determined by your item value.
-
For high-value or delicate products, we recommend the usual reinforced packaging, protective inserts, and tamper-evident seals for high value items.
When we provide you with the link to the shipping label, you will be asked to enter the value of your combined package which will inform the shipping insurance to be applied to your shipment.
-
Yes. All items must be fully insured for their declared value while in transit. Insurance must cover the entire shipping journey, including return shipment.
-
Items should be insured for their full replacement or appraised value, not resale or discounted value.
-
Yes, all our shipping options require a signature on arrival to ensure your items are received and inspected before the carrier departs.
-
We require proof of value for high end shipments. Proof of value is required before shipment or pickup and can be uploaded in our form if we are handling the shipping. Acceptable documents include:
Purchase receipt
Invoice
Professional appraisal
Certificate of authenticity (if applicable)
-
All items should be shipped with clear documentation of their condition, including any existing damage.
Since packaged items aren’t visible before pickup, this documentation is the only way to establish their condition before transit. When items arrive, we inspect and record their condition and compare it with the pre-shipping information.
Shipping damage is considered valid only if a new issue is found at arrival that wasn’t present in the pre-shipping records.
Damage that wasn’t documented before shipping or during the arrival inspection may be considered pre-existing or post-receipt.
Providing accurate pre-shipping documentation helps ensure any shipping damage can be identified and addressed quickly.
-
Yes, all items are documented upon arrival. We will compare this with the documentation you provide prior to shipping and confirm the damage existed prior to shipping.
-
Lost items are the responsibility of the shipping carrier and insurance provider. We assist with documentation but are not financially liable for carrier loss.
-
We take the safety of your items very seriously. We ask that clients maintain insurance for high-value items, but every item in our care is handled carefully, stored securely, and used only for the agreed project.
Our team follows strict procedures to minimize risk, and our studio insurance provides additional protection for our operations.
Providing proof of insurance before shipping or delivery helps ensure your items are fully protected while with us, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
-
Yes, we accept international shipments; however, clients are responsible for all customs documentation, payment of any duties or taxes, and compliance with all applicable import and export laws.
